Limitation on controls/objects?
from a previous post:
Just guesses.... #1. Close excel and clean up the windows temp folder. Excel uses this folder to store a bunch of files that get created with controls on a userform (and activex controls on a worksheet). Maybe there's something that's confusing excel. #2. Try Rob Bovey's code cleaner program. It exports the modules and reimports them. There can be some detritus left behind that causes unexplainable errors. You may want to try Rob Bovey's code cleaner. http://www.appspro.com/ darryl26 wrote: I've got a userform in Excel 97. Everything used to run smoothly, but I'm trying to add a couple more objects (textboxes, comboboxes, etc) and I get a "Windows discovered error..." message which closes the file and excel whenever the program tries to read a piece of code which refers to a new object. I've tried different objects in different locations and nothing has worked. The only thing I can think of is that Excel can't handle any more objects. Any experiences here? Help! Can you create a smaller version of your workbook and try that?
Maybe the workbook itself is getting corrupted. If a test workbook works ok, you may want to consider recreating the full version. darryl26 wrote: Thanks for the help Dave, but neither solution worked. What I have found is that you can work on it in excel XP (2002). Adding new controls works fine and everything runs okay. If you bring it back to a 97 computer though it crashes on those new statements. Unfortunately, almost everyone who'll be using it has Excel 97. Thanks again for your help.
