Thank you all for your support - gives you a warm feeling that you're not
all alone with your problems in this big wide world.

The problem was the Kaspersky Office Guard Anti-Virus program, which keeps
doing its thing even when you disactivate it. I had it disinstalled and our
software worked fine. Also contacted Kaspersky Labs and they indicated there
were problems and furnished patches (which have not yet been installed)
