Cell Search Calculations
 

Being new to the forum, I would appreciate help on the following.

We are trying to automate a spreadsheet which total the number of hour
and rates over multiple projects over a weekly period.

We have compiled the worksheet to calculate the number of hours, at
rate, for a given project.

We now need to collate this information, by searching cell contents t
find all "same" job numbers, over the period (using a range of cells
and compile the total hours worked/total rate applied to a give
project.

example

H8 contents is job number "7168"
I8 contents is the total rate applied "D4*E8" say £102.00
H9 contents is job number "7156"
I9 contents is the total rate applied "D4*E9" say £156.00
H10 contents is job number "7168"
I10 contents is the total rate applied "D4*E10" say £198.00
H11 contents is job number "7168"
I11 contents is the total rate applied "D4*E11" say £148.00

We are trying a function which would search and recognise all job 7168
and add these together, and all 7156 etc, except these numbers are no
sequential, nor do they only apply to one given week. so the searc
function needs to be able to search, remeber and reference a cell
content rather than the actual job number.
