Need help with identifying values and changing formats.

I could be missing something from your Q, but it sounds
like a strong candidate for Conditional Formatting (from
the Format menu).

Peter

At work we use Excel for stat tracking of all kinds. Part

of my job is to go through the stats and look for things
that are out of range or questionable figures. What I
would like to do is to have that process automated. I will
still look over all the data but this will help for when I
am not here and make the process easier.

What exactly I want is take a column of data and each

row represents a different day's value. Say the average
for each day is between 4,000 and 7,000 and anything above
or below that number would be considered questionable. If
a value is out of that range I would like the cell's
background to change to red. I know a little VB.NET
programming but not sure how to incorperate it into Excel
yet. Or perhaps I need to make a macro. Not sure how to go
about doing this. Once I can accomplish this little task I
am sure I'll be able to use it to do more advanced things.

Any help would be great!
Thanks!
