Can not open excel workbooks from the file manager
Hi
not sure this will help but try the following: goto 'Tools-Options-General " and uncheck "Ignore other Applications" Exit Excel and try again If this doesn't work try to re-register Excel 1. Close Excel first and 2. On the Windows Taskbar 2.1 StartRun "excel.exe /unregserver"(no quotes)OK. 2.2 StartRun "excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes)OK. -----Original Message----- Was wondering if anyone had expereinced this before...After installing an excel addin I built in vb.net when I double click on an excel workbook in windows explorer excel opens put instead of opening the workbook it just loads excel. The screen I am presented with after excel opens is the same as if you were to open excel and then close the default workbook, i.e. the the excel toolbars and a grey background. This happens to all excel workbooks on my system so it is not just a dodgy workbook. The interesting thing is that if I open the excel workbook through the excel file open dialog it works fine. Any ideas? Cheers....Jim . |
