Excel97 (w/ VBA) Template won't open in Excel2003
I'm helping a coworker with an excel spreadsheet which interfaces wit
an oracle (I believe) database. The template opens fine in Excel 97 yet fails to produce anything at all when it is used to create a ne file in Excel2003. Excel simply acts as if you had clicked nothing a all. The macros aren't loaded, and the page doesn't change. If you need more info about the problem, please ask -- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com |

Hi
Some questions - is there any error message? - What security level for macros is set - Is there an Auto_open or Workbook_open macro. If yes could you post the code -- Regards Frank Kabel Frankfurt, Germany I'm helping a coworker with an excel spreadsheet which interfaces with an oracle (I believe) database. No error messages, nor any response of any kind. Nothing in the even
logs either. Medium Security level, such that it asks before running all macros. Neither of those macros exist. Only three custom macros, whic incidentally, are what I'm supposed to help them debug. Thanks for the response -- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com |

I checked with the leaders of the project, and they said that's a bi
no-no. Apparently there's information in the file that would not b suitable to release. Can you give me any suggestions of things to loo for -- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com |

Hi
then very difficult to say. Some ideas: - check the database connection - try removing this database connection part and see if the template opens afterwards - check all used macros (if there're any) -- Regards Frank Kabel Frankfurt, Germany I checked with the leaders of the project, and they said that's a big no-no. Here's the odd thing though, it starts up fine under office 97 on th
same machine, so one can assume that everything in the backend works? It's just 2003 that won't load it -- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com |
