collaboration using excel ???

Hi,

I'm considering creating a com-add in for excel that can allow
real time collaboration.

But the first part is somehow capturing all that happens inside
Excel & then take it outside & make it happen elsewhere.

Kindof like a tv show.

But maybe along the way & if i get time i could let everyone
who is participating do it too.

I know it sounds ambitious but i think it would be cool to make
this happen. We are thinking of dcom or something like that to
actually broadcast the tv show to everyone else but that need
comes only if capturing stuff is really possible with excel.

Now i have not done any hard core stuff in excel before, but
i know vc++ & some generic com stuff and maybe a little VB.

Which is the best way to approach this ? Is vba good enough
or c++ really required ? How much time would it require to
finish at least capturing the tv show part ?

thanks in advance,
gene

ps: I guess iam good with c++ & com (i know about the
plumbings but nothing about events and sinks and such)
