Remove border line of a few cells

how do I remove the border around a cell? I did it by right-click the cell,
then click Format Cells.

click the Border tab and I remove the borders by clicking on them. or to
remove all of them, click the preset None. However after i got back to the
spreadsheet, the border line still there. I also choosing ToolsOptions,
and on the View tab, remove the check
mark from Gridlines. But this option remove all the gridlines not of a few
cells line which is what I want. any help?

thank you.

You cannot remove gridlines from individual cells.

What you could do to fake it is to select the cells, and then set the
background colour to white. Oddly (IMO), this seems to overlap the
gridlines.
