Marketing and protecting an Excel "creation"

I'm hoping someone with some real experience can help me here. You see, I have created a Workbook to perform a specific task and I would like to try to market the application. Is this possible? and if so, how do I protect my creation to keep others from pirating? If you have ever created an Excel Workbook and sold it to someone else, I'd sure like to hear from you.

Marketing and protecting an Excel "creation"

Hi,
I am no expert but sometimes I may charge a small fee for
a Utility. Because each users needs differ, it is
difficult to sell a specific task utility or workbook.

You could burn it to a CD, with help files etc and
proposition a PC magazine to include it on their Mag.

You will not make any money selling Excel Workbooks, if
you do, let me know!

Pointers for luck:
1. Users need to try before they buy so a trial version
may be required.
2. Your version must be compatible with Excel 2000 plus.
3. Set up a website and advertise it there.
4. Send out leaflets.

As for Protection, there isn't much. Diable macros and all
your code is there although you could xlveryhidden the
module or password it.

And if you sell one, what's to stop that person sending it
to everyone else?

The best idea is to set yourself up as an Excel Expert and
look for contract work.

regards
Mark
