Depends what version you are using. You can with 97, but not later.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for your reply, as the code i got does not work.

I am recieving a spreadsheet created in Germany and it has auto macro's
in it puting in filters etc...
I save this file after removing the headings and groups to use in acces,
but cannot open the file again as then the data get's all messed up by
the auto macro, so i want to remove the auto macro so that i can open it
without any problem.

The simplest soltution would be to
Just have the automacro check the state of the the data. If it has been
processed, then exit the sub, otherwise process the data.
