Find Function via VB
 

Does anyone have some code that uses the Find function to look up a Column
for a typed value. As I might not know the exact value (or description) I am
looking for close matches would also be required

I want to lookup on Column B only

Try something like

Set oCell = Columns("C:C").Find(findVal,Lookat:=xlPart)
If Not oCell Is Nothing Then
'do your stuff
Else
MsgBox "Not found"
End If
