Don't understand External Data message
I have an message coming up on an excel template I've created. I don't understand why it ishappening - please help
The template includes - Data entered by users and standard formula - A Pivot table that sources data from within the workbook and formats it - 2 action buttons connected to Macros that are stored within this workbook - Pictures of logos. They aren't hyperlinked, just copied and pasted in from the Jpeg fil - Some hyperlinks connected to cells within the template (eg "Check Totals" I didn't get any refresh messages when the file was just an excel workbook. When I Saved As and changed it to be a "Template", I got a message asking to auto refresh the External Query Data - but I don't have any external data or links in the workbook?? To check this, I did a "Find" on [ to find any external links but there are none The Macros live within the spreadsheet too (no external names on them) I even tried to look at Data / Import External Data on the toolbar menu to see if I can access "External Data Properties" but it's greyed out So I don't understand why I'm getting this message and how to find and get rid of the external data Does it have anything to do with the Pivot table? Is it safe to say yes to "always refresh it on opening and don't ask the question again" or will user have problems. The template will be used at a different location to me Any advice or information about this message would be greatly appreciated BeSmart |

I've never heard of such a thing. If you want to email the workbook to me, I'll look at it and see if I can find anything. -- Dick Kusleika MVP - Excel Excel Blog - Daily Dose of Excel www.dicks-blog.com "BeSmart" wrote in message ...
