Error message When running Macros on MS excel 2002

Hope someone can help me with this problem. I'm currently teaching
class in Excel 2002 and we are working on macros.

Here's the problem:

After inserting the macros into the workbook and running it I come u
with this error message:

Macros in this workbook are disabled because the security level i
high, and the macros have not been digitally signed or verified a
safe. To run the macros, you can either have them signed or change you
security level.

Ok, so I go into *Tools* , *Options* , and *Security* , *Macr
Security* . I change the security from high to low and hit ok. I stil
get the same error message.
Next I try to fix the digital signature, I use _Selfcert.exe_ an
_Makecert.exe_ to create a digital signature for the macros. Hav
creating the certificate and sign it to the macro, I try to run i
again but I still get the same error message.
I then used Registry Editor to create a XLM key for excel, but stil
getting the error.

I'm not sure what to do next, I hope someone can help me befor
Monday.

(BTW - I don't know if this has anything to do with the curren
problem, but I have _Deep_Freeze__ program on the computer. But it i
disabled.

Error message When running Macros on MS excel 2002

I found this info on the Micrsoft website:

CAUSEThis problem occurs if any of the following conditions is true:
You insert an Excel workbook that contains macros into a document o
one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article.

-or-
In the program, you double-click to switch to an embedded workbook tha
contains macros.

-or-
The macro security level is set to Medium or High in Excel.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use one of the followin
methods:
Remove all the macros and modules from the workbook before you inser
it into a Word document. -or-

Digitally sign the macros in the workbook. -or-

Disable macro virus protection in Excel. To do this, follow thes
steps:
On the Tools menu, point to Macro and then click Security.
On the Security Level tab, click Low, and then click OK.
NOTE: If you disable macro virus protection in Excel, you are no
warned when you open a workbook that contains macros. This makes i
possible for Microsoft Excel workbooks to become infected with macr
viruses if you open a workbook that contains a virus. Use this metho
with caution.
MORE INFORMATIONThe Office programs that support the use of Microsof
Visual Basic for Applications macros also include macro viru
protection. If you select this feature, you receive a warning messag
whenever you open a file (such as a workbook or a document) tha
contains macros.

In some cases, you may receive a macro virus warning message twice whe
you open a file by using any of the following methods:

You open the file in the program that created it.
You insert the file into a document in another program.
This behavior occurs as a result of how the program that you ar
currently using opens or inserts the file.
The information in this article applies to:
Microsoft Access 2002
Microsoft PowerPoint 2002
Microsoft Word 2002
