Inserting an Object in Excel
In Excel 2003, just installed with all updates ...
When I attempt to insert a new object Excel wont let me! I am using a Barcode application and their instructions are as follows: 1. A short description of how to add a barcode to your Excel sheet: First launch Excel and create a new sheet or open an already existing sheet. Now go to the menu "Insert" and select "Object..." from that item list. (screenshot on the right) 2. A dialog box appears: Select now "ActiveBarcode" and click "Ok". Now a barcode will be created inside your document. This will be a standard barcode of EAN-13 type. Next change to the "design mode" of Excel (e.g. use this button:). Now you can modify this barcode. You can change the type, text, colors etc. For this click inside the barcode with the right mouse button. 3. A pop up menu will open: Select "ActiveBarcode-Object" and then "Properties...". The property dialog of ActiveBarcode will open. Here you can modify the barcode as you like. ...........so everything work until I click OK in step 2 and then Excel displays "CAN NOT INSERT OBJECT" So is there some property or security setting or something else I'm missing? I am a novice so step-by-step help would be appredciated!!! Runing WINXP Pro, totally updated. Thanks! |
