My company uses a third party Progress database for our clients. One of the
neat features is that we can export data to Excel. This allows me to write macros so I can generate additional information on the clients. (I know head office should be doing this so I can spend more time selling, but you know how IT departments are.) The problem is I can export only one client at a time. I'd actually like to export my entire client list, so I can work on the entire book. Right now, we go to the Progress program, call up the client, and use the menu command ToolsExport Excel Spreadsheet. Progress opens up a new instance of Excel, exports the data, and I go from there. Is it possible to automate this with an Excel macro? Can Excel call up the Progress program and feed it the same stuff I would type, then resume the macro once it's received the data? I'm on my own on this. I certainly won't get any help from the IT department to, for example, modify the Progress program. It all has to be done in Excel. As always, thanks for your help.
