Sorry for the long winded question But?? I've worked this for a looon
time and need some help.

I have created a template w/macors that is located on a network drive
User's are to open the template which uses macors to open other file
on the same network drive that can then be edited and saved via macro
as well. All of the files opened are unprotected by macros for edit an
then protected by macros prior to saving the files & changes Thus th
user does not need to know the password to edit these files while usin
the template and macro main file.

The thought behind this was to allow the users to open these networ
drive files and edit via the template and macros without knowing th
password, but if they opened the network file directly i.e with fil
explorer etc., the files could not be edited or changed without th
password that is used by the template file and macros that saved th
file.

The thought was that then the template an d file network director
security settings could be set to R/W, modify and add files but disabl
delete files and thus allow users to modify or add files when usin
the template/macors but not by using windows explorer nor could the
delete files due to security setting by going though windows exploer
due to disable fo delete settings in the network folders securit
properties settings.

All this worked fine until users started trying to use th
template/macors with the folder security setting as described. User
could modify/add, save and use things as planned. Probelm was that wit
the delete setting disabled there were copies of .tmp files all ove
the place. I assume MS was making tmp copies of the template as well a
every file the user modifed via the template and macro. With the delet
setting disabled in the folder security properties, all of these file
stay in the folder.

Any ideas of how I should be doing this or setting permissions so user
could modify files using the template/macors file but not allowing the
to delete files in this same network folder. Is there something in VB
that could change setting as required, or something to clean up file
left by the user after done? ANy and all auggestions GREATL
appreciated as I have ALOT of time intop this and can't seem to figur
it out.
