Default Can anyone help?

Can anyone tell me how to do this as I am rubbish with excel.

What I want to do is type in "A1" in a cell and the next cell to
automatically write "A2" and so on. How do I do this please you clever
clever people.

Not quite automatic, but how about typing A1 and rightclicking on the autofill
button at the bottom right corner and dragging to the right.

When you let go, choose Fill Series.

Or, point to the fill handle, hold the left button, and drag to the right.
