How to change number formatting
You can use Excel formatting to format the cells. Go to FormatCells.
Under the Number tab, select Special in the left box and Social Security Number in the right box. If this is not an option, choose Custom in the left box, then type in 000-00-0000 in the right box. In my opinion, this is better than trying to format a number in a macro. HTH. Mike. -- Michael J. Malinsky "skrout" wrote in message ... I have a spreadsheet that for Social Security #'s format requested was for 000000000; now I have been asked to change to reflect the formatting of 000-00-0000. Is there a formula that I can use that change the formatting without having to retype over 1000 SS#'s. |
