Saving hidden data with a worksheet (preferably without using a hidden sheet)

What is the nature of the data you want to save? There is no need to post to all those groups. -- Dick Kusleika MVP - Excel www.dicks-clicks.com Post all replies to the newsgroup. "Aaron Queenan" wrote in message ... I want to save some data with the worksheet from within the Worksheet_OnSave event handler. Is there any way to do this without adding an extra sheet to the workbook? The Excel4 API had a xlDefineBinaryName function. Is there any way to call it using COM, via my own Excel4 function if necessary? Thanks, Aaron Queenan. |

Just formatting information, but it isn't something that I want to be
accessible to the users, even by using the VBA editor. The only way I have heard of doing that is using the xlDefineBinaryName function. I would like to call it in the WorkSheet_Open or WorkSheet_Close event, but I'm not sure how to call it from COM. Thanks, Aaron. "Dick Kusleika" wrote in message ... If you want to use that function, then I'm no help to you. You can read msdn and try to figure it out: http://search.microsoft.com/search/r...name& c=4&s=2 It seems like a lot of work for nothing, though. What's wrong with adding an extra sheet? -- Dick Kusleika MVP - Excel www.dicks-clicks.com Post all replies to the newsgroup. "Aaron Queenan" wrote in message ...
