Formula help needed please
Hi,
I'm trying to write a little formula that will help me assess th current position of 20 football teams in a league. Basically the teams are in a1:a20, there current points total are i b1:b20 and i wish cells c1:c20 to show the values 1 to 20 indicatin the position relative to the number of points in B (1 going to the tea with the most points). I'm aware that i could sort the values etc but i'd prefer to avoid thi by using a formula in C. Can anyone help please -- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com |

Hi
you can use the RANK formula. In C1 enter =RANK(B1,$B1:$B20) and copy down Frank Hi, I'm trying to write a little formula that will help me assess the current position of 20 football teams in a league.
