Without going thru the Wizard, is there any way to covert
a text file into an excel spreadsheet (just executing
an .exe or .bat file)? We have a requirement to automate
the conversion of text file into excel with some
predifined formating. Thanks for help.

in code, you can use the workbooks. Opentext method

for example

SET WB = Workbooks.OpenText(sFileName)

called Monarch.
