Default Cannot Type Text Into Excel VBA Help Index

I first posted this question in the worksheet functions group, then
realized this group is more appropriate - sorry for the multiple
posting.

I am unable to use Excel VBA help. The problem is that I cannot type
text into the Excel VBA Help Index text box. When I place the cursor
over the text box the cursor becomes a horizontal line with vertical
bars at each end. Attempting to type anything results with nothing
entered into the text box. I found the relevant the Microsoft
Knowledge Base article 263647 and followed all of the article's
suggestions, however the problem still remains.

I am running Excel 2000 SP-3 on Windows 2000 professional.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Thanks.
