Bank reconsolidation/Transaction Matching/OS List

Is there a template or macro that can match downloaded bank information with general ledger information exported to excel. Then create an outstanding list and list of discrepancies. Thank you.

Hi Sam,

Although I don't know of any ~free~ "general ledger" templates or macros
that addresses your needs, I did find some other solutions when I used "bank
ledger download excel" (without the quotes) as a search in Google and got a
few hits. Here are a couple:

http://www.ozgrid.com/Services/accou...ibution-sb.htm
http://www.popularshareware.com/Chec...hot-10512.html

However, you might find more specialized software to be better suited to
your needs:

Microsoft Money: http://www.microsoft.com/money/default.asp
Intuit Quicken: http://www.intuit.com/

Both of these packages retail for less than $100. You can go nuts
downloading information from banks and categorizing as you see fit. I
believe both packages can export data to Excel. But you have to check and
verify that assumption.

Hope my answer provides some food for thought.

Regards,
Kevin

Thank you for your reply. I checked these out the problem they don't compare lists you have to do that manually. In Excel it should be easy to compare two lists that are in Excel format to do a bank Rec.

Chip Pearson has a bunch of techniques (both helpful worksheet formulas and
macros) at:

http://www.cpearson.com/excel/duplicat.htm

I'd use the worksheet formulas in helper columns and then Data|Filter|autofilter
by that helper column (to find the differences).
