Hi All

Does anyone know if it is possible to stick in a picture
like a background (ie. with the text in cells over the
top) but only one occurance as in if I call it a
background it is tiled all over the sheet but I want to
beable to place it in the center of the start up screen?

Jase,

I don't you just insert a picture as embedded object in the middle of the
screen? I usually do that, and then protect the sheet so that users can't
select the picture. Effect is absolutely the same.

If you are using Excel 2000, you will need to run VB to disable selection
Something like

Sheet("MySheet").EnableSelection=xlNoSelection
