KeepItCool,

You responded to someone else a couple months back
regarding the solution to an algorithm to supply a check
digit in a Chinese or Japanese ID number.

You supplied the correct answer and referenced a web-
site. Can you please repost your response as well as the
web site? My hard-drive died and I lost everything.

As always, thanks much for your assistance.

I hope after John's response with the url that you were looking
for, that you are asking yourself
"how can I find something previously posted in the newsgroup archives".
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/xlnews.htm

Goggle searches webpages, but you want Google Groups search which
is for newsgroups.

David,

I should have gone the extra mile (or at least a few more feet) on my
response.

Thanks,
John

Thanks John, I guess by splitting up the help it got a bit more mileage
on the importance of looking for previously posted questions replies
for an answer or at least a knowledgeable starting point for a question.
