XP saves differently than 2000
I have a process where a user clicks on a book, a perl script dishes th book to the user, replacing an environment parm with a variable. Whe the book opens "Auto_open" code reads the parm variable then does a we query (using the variable) and returns data back to the excel book. This all worked fine with this combo (IE 5.0, Excel 2000, and Window 2000), but customers with Windows XP can't open the Excel book withou receiving a syntax error because the parm wasn't replaced correctl after being dished from the perl script. I found an XP machine, then saved my Excel book as XP and it works fin for the XP users and not the Win2000. I am perplexed and can't fin any clue.
