XML and Pivot Tables
There doesn't seem to be a whole ton of info about XML with Excel 2003 yet
on MSDN (unless I'm looking in the wrong place). I'm trying to understand what functionality in Excel will be supported with the XML file format. Right now I'm using automation of Excel to create workbooks with one sheet with a table of data, and a second sheet with a pivot table based on the data from the first sheet. In some cases I'll have a 3rd sheet with a pivot chart. I'm really hoping that in the next version of my software, I'll be able to forget about automating Excel, and instead produce an XML document that users will be able to load into Excel 2003. There will (hopefully) be all the info in the XML file that Excel needs to automatically set up all the sheets, including the pivot table and chart. Is this someting that is supported with Excel 2003? Thanks, Chris |
XML and Pivot Tables
I see the schema for Excel 2003 XML files will be released Dec 5, 2003
(http://www.microsoft.com/office/xml/default.mspx), so I'll be able to get my answer then. "Chris Pettingill" wrote in message ...
