Use of the "OR" function

I am trying to use two logical conditions in writing an
IF,THEN,ELSE formula in Excel that does the following: IF
(C500C499) OR (O500C500) THEN SET IT TO 0, OTHERWISE DO
THE FOLLOWING (C500-O500)*30. Here's the formula that
I've used but it doesn't work: =(IF((C500C499)OR
(O500C500)),0,(C500-O500)*30)

The bottom line is that I'm not sure how to use the OR
function. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Use of the "OR" function

Im a novice at this, but had a similar problem with conditional
formulas. I think I may have what you are looking for.

=if(or(C500C499,O500C500),(0),30*(C500-O500))

Something that helped me greatly was clicking on my formula in the
formula window. As you move the cursor back and forth over the formula,
it displays what that portion of the formula does. You may already know
that.

Let me know if that formula works for you.

Try

=(IF( OR (O500C500;C500C499) ),0,(C500-O500)*30
