Personal.xls
I need help! I am trying to use one of my macros in my
Personal.xls. I went under my Project Explorer and it wasn't there. So I went to my XLSTART folder to see if it was there and it was. I copied that file to another location and I created a new macro under my personal.xls workbook. A new Excel file was created, so I saved my settings and closed excel to test if it was still there and it wasn't. I exported all of my macros, so I have them saved in another location. I have tried everything possible (about three times over) and I cannot get my personal workbook to open up when excel opens. I have tried making changes from the project explorer, the XLSTART folder, and creating a new macro. Any suggestions? Do I need to re-install Excel? Thanks in advance for any help given! Julie |
Personal.xls
It is hard to visualize your particular situation, but to get a
personal.xls, the easiest way is to record a macro. This will create a personal.xls and place the macro in that workbook if you select personal as the location. When Excel closes, you should be prompted to save changes to personal.xls which you should respond to in the affirmative. Each time you open excel, this workbook should be opened, although it won't appear in excel because it is hidden. You should be able to see it in the project explorer in the vbe and you should be able to access the code there. In xl2000 and later, there is more than one xlstart folder. If you have more than one personal.xls in different start folders, this could cause a problem as only one personal.xls can be open at a time. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy "JUlie" wrote in message ...
