Build a Macro

I have a worksheet with three columns: account number, debit & credit.
For one range of cells I would like to build a macro that if there is an
amount in the credit column, to cut it and paste it to the debit column
and multiply it by -1. For another range of cells I would like to build
a macro that if there is an amount in the debit column, to cut it and
paste it to the credit column and multiply it by -1. I hope someone can
help me.

More info would be helpful.

suppose you find an "amount" in cell a6. Do you want it to goto b6 or to the
end of the line in col B?
Do you want the original "amount" to stay where it was - or to be cut?

Mind reading forum is down the road.

I would like the amount in column c to move to column b, therefore
nothing should be left in column c.

Thanks.
