Insufficient memory error using shared excel spreadsheet

I have created an excel spreadsheet that is shared by
three users. It pulls in some information using dde
links and does a bunch of processing with it. Some of
the constants and formulas are changed by the users on a
daily basis. At least once or twice a day, when one user
changes some information and saves it so it will show up
in the other two users spreadsheets, an error message
will pop up on one or more of the machines
saying "Insufficient memory ..., excel is shutting down"
Any suggestions?

One possible solution is to reduce the number of days kept
in the change history. In the Tools menu, select Share
WorkBook. Click on the Advanced tab and cut down the
number of days in Keep Change History for days to an
appropriate minimum (or turn it off with the checkbox
below.) Other advanced settings may help as well.

I've seen files balloon up surprisingly fast with a Change
History being kept (at least in Excel 97.) So check into
this possibility.
