Clicking on a List item
A drop-down list has choices MARRIED or SINGLE.
When a user selects MARRIED, I'd like A1 to show "You are married", and "You are single" if the choice is later changed to SINGLE. Can this be done? How can Excel "know" that a certain selection was made from the list????????? Is this what's called a "click-event"? Thanks! Paul |

Paul,
Depends what the drop-down is. If it's data validation, just test the value of the cell. If its a control toolbox combobox, link the result to a cell and test that. Then its just a simple IF test =IF(C1="MARRIED","You are married", "You are single") -- HTH Bob Phillips ... looking out across Poole Harbour to the Purbecks (remove nothere from the email address if mailing direct) "Paul" wrote in message ...
