Opening Outlook Express attachments w/Excel
Just purchased a new computer that has Excel on it, but
cannot open an Excel attachment when viewing email on Outlook Express. Had this problem with my older computer (didn't have Excel). Just transferred all my data to the new computer. Can that be the problem? Does anyone have a fix for me? Thanks in advance. |

If it shows the Excel icon, then you should be able to open it.
if not, then go to the Start menu, select run enter Excel.Exe /regserver That should refresh the default registry entries, one of which is associating excel files with the excel application. Also, are you sure you have Excel? There is a spreadsheet component in Microsoft Works, but this isn't Excel and it doesn't read Excel files. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy Neil wrote in message ...
