Office 2k Excel.exe performed illegal operation??
Sometimes, the file that holds the customized toolbar gets corrupted and causes
excel heartache when opening. Use Windows start button|Find| and search for *.xlb. You may have to search for hidden files within hidden folders. If that's not it, maybe it was an addin that is causing the crash. Chip Pearson has some notes to help find the problem at: http://www.cpearson.com/excel/StartupErrors.htm chatfreak wrote: Good morning, A co-worker is having problems opening Office 2k Excel through windows 2k. It only happens when he signs on under his user account. I logged on as the Admin and Excel runs fine. I ran the repair Office 2000 feature from the disk first, then did an entire reinstall of Office 2k... still nothing has worked. I went hunting in the Microsoft Info Database and I couldn't find anything pertaining to this particular problem. I did go ahead and install the Office Pack 3, so it's up to date. Has anyone else ran into the problem of Excel not opening for one user and how might I fix it? Thanks so much for all your help! Sue -- Dave Peterson |
