Single vs. Multiple Workbook Performance

I'm creating about fifty estimating templates,
with one template per worksheet. Sizes will
be entered on a template and then the data
will be copied to a database workbook on a
server. ( These templates will be loaded on
for four workstations. )

Is there any performance advantage to placing
all fifty worksheets in a single workbook?

Or is it better to place five worksheets in ten
workbooks?

Thank you.

Sean L.
