macro problems

I recently had to rebuild my hard drive and I reinstalled
Windows and Office 2000 with all updates. Now my excel
spreadsheets don't work because the macros are
automatically disabled -- I no longer get the prompt to
enbable/disable macros when I open a spreadsheet. A couple
of these are critical to my business. Any ideas?

Paul, thank you, that worked ... with all the worms going
around, the updates must have set it to high security
because i've never had to do this before... Peter

Peter, you need to change the macro security settings to

get the macro to
run. using 97 right now but I think it is under tools,

macros, security

Yep! Found out the hard way that when "they" started upgrading all my
users from 97 to 2000 that the install automatically sets the security on
high. And no alerts show when a workbook with macros opens.

Spent weeks re-educating every one and learning new cuss words...

Almost got a reprimand from my boss when he couldn't run the macro...

Check your Macro Security Settings (Tools - Options -
Security) Verify that you setting is on Medium.
