numbers as text?
I have copied some a column of numbers from a web page into an excel
worksheet. The "numbers" are reflected as text (alining on the left side of the cells). I have tryed formating before and after entering the data. However if I click on the entries with the mouse and then hit enter they reflect as numbers....Is there an easier way to do this? I have thousands. Thank you in advance. David |

numbers as text?
format the cells as general
go to an empty cell and enter the numeral 1 select that cell and do edit=Copy select the troublesome cells and do Edit=PasteSpecial and select multiply. This should convert them back to numbers. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy "David Bateman" wrote in message ... I have copied some a column of numbers from a web page into an excel worksheet.
