Automatic Numbering of Sorts

I have model numbers that must match up with mfg code and
then given a number. I would like to have the number
automatically go to the next. Ex: 154 DDT as the model,
P9 as the mfg code and 1 as the number. The next time
154DDT is entered into the spreadsheet I would like it to
search for 1 and automatically go to 2. Is this possible?
