Opening a spreadsheet using VB
 

Basically you are asking how to use automation to automate Excel. Here are
several examples:

The above should all be on one line in your browse.

For specific code to use in Excel, all you need to do is turn on the macro
recorder and perform those actions manually. Turn off the macro recorder,
then view the code recorded. Then you can adapt that code to an automation
scenario as shown above.

As someone who regularly posts links, could I respectfully suggest that you
take a look at www.tinyURL.com, which will do a similar job to condensing
the URLs as Make A Shorter Link, but without the intermediate step via that
site. In addition, you can add a link to your favourites that will generate
a tinyURL from the active web page.

I think you will like it.
