Default Consolidating Monthly Databases

I work in the accounting department and at the end of
every month I have to consolidate the current months'
database of gas wells and their reserves with the previous
months database and get the monthly reserve change.
During the month some wells are sold, some new wells are
discovered and for the other wells there is only a change
in reserves. When I consolidate the dbs, I don't want two
wells with the same name for the wells that were not added
or sold. I also want a row added for the new well and
zero for the reserves for the well that has been sold in
the current month.

What is the best way to do this instead of the old, time-
consuming method of adding rows and manually inputting
data into one of the dbs?

The suggestion of a quicker way by a more experienced user
would be very much appreciated.

Thank you very much.
