Default Disable Database Object

Listers

I have a problem running my Macro in Excel. It is a simple one
opening a file as text. However, on many occasion Excel is
identifying the file as a Data Object. This is crashing excel and
hence I cannot process my file. Is there a way of disabling ODBC, DAO
or ADO? Is there a way around it?

Regards,
Faisal ...
