Formatting pivot table
 

Look in the formatting menu at conditional formatting.

Use the macro recorder while doing it manually to get the syntax for
applying the conditional formatting using code.

Thanks for the swift response Tom.
I can conditionally format the pivot table in excel,
however, when I publish the table, (save as a web page),
it loses all formatting. Is there any way of retaining
this?

Formatting pivot table
 

If you convert it to static HTML and it is no longer a Pivot Table, then no,
you would have to color the cells of the table.
