Can the AND operator be of use here?

In my sheet, two columns Accounts & Descriptions exist. The entries would be
unique, that is for a particular Account only one type of description (e.g.
Pills) be there.

Now, I want is that
If accnt = 2345 AND descp = "pills" Then
do something
endif

Excel does not allow me do that. Can anyone help?

I'm not sure what your question is. Do you want a formula?

=IF(A1=2345,B1="pills"),"Yes","No")

Perhaps you could provide a few more details about what you need.

I think Chip meant to write:

=IF(AND(A1=2345,B1="pills"),"Yes","No")
