Counting selected entries
I have a spreadsheet set up like a basic monthly
calandar. Each day (Mon - Sat) is represented by one cell (e.g., week 1 would be cells B2 - G2; week 2 is B3 - G3, with five possible weeks per month). The user is restricted in each cell to selecting from a list a code numbered 1 - 16 (each number 1 through 16 is a code selected for that day)... How can I list and add-up after each month the number of times any/each number (1 through 16) was selected that month? How can I I do the same and include previous month totals? (Once I do this, i should be able to link those numbers to a separate workbook to maintain year-to-date totals, etc., right?) All help is really appreciated! Thanks, Adam |
Counting selected entries
=countif($B$2:$G$6,1)
will count the number of cells in B2:G6 which contain 1. =Countif($B$2:$G$11,1) will count two months of data for value 1. =Countif($B:$G,1) will count the whole years data Is it more complicated than that.
