Work Menu Equivalent

Does anyone know of an Excel add-in, or something of the sort, which
provides the equivalent of Word's Work Menu facility on Excel - i.e. a drop
down list of 'favourite' spreadsheets?

I guess one could provide much the same facility by creating a button which
triggers a macro which opens a folder of appropriate shortcuts. However, I
rather like the drop-down simplicity and elegance of the Work menu.

Any thoughts or ideas please?

Thanks,

V

No equivalent "Work Menu" in Excel.

Here's the one from Daily Dose of Excel:

A downloadable *.zip file with an Add-in

Many thanks for your reply. However I have tried this add-in in two versions
of Excel XP (2002) and, unfortunately, have found it very unreliable. The
favorites do not last (i.e. it regularly reverts to the original list of
Dick's favorites) and the entry on the file menu occasionally vanishes!
Judging by the comments on the website, I am not the only one to have had
such problems.

Pity - as it looked as if it was exactly what I was looking for.

Don't suppose you (or anyone else?) know of a better or updated version?

Regards,

V

I had not researched this very well.

I now read the comments and see there are quite a few problems with the add-in.

I know of no other way to emulate the Work Menu from Word.

Do not despair! A small amount of Googling last night resulted in finding a
very similar, but better, add-in at
http://www.danielklann.com/excel/exc...tes_add-in.htm

This does exactly the same as the add-in you suggested but has several
better features and is stable and works reliably. Mission accomplished!

It also spells favourites in a way that those of us on this side of the
Atlantic will favour!

Thanks again,

V

Thanks for the update Victor.

I have downloaded the add-in and will load and test.

Up here in Canada we also spell favourites in the correct manner as the Queen
expects us to.

I can feel the heat already<g
