Is there a way to import cell values of multiple workbooks in a folder based
on a date contained in these workbooks? I would like to import the name and
the dollar amount of each contract based on each workbooks scheduled date.

I may not be following this completely; but, it seems me that you would want
this as a list stored like a database. Use Data|Form in Excel to do the entry
and retrieval. It sounds like each contract is being stored in its own
workbook.
