"Formula too long" when changing linked sources??

I have a destination workbook linked to ten source workbooks. I want to move
them into other folders but when I do and try to edit the links I keep
getting a message that says "formula too long." Even just changing one source
doesn't work.

Did you figure this out? I have a similar problem? I am referencing the
same files but need to change source from old server files that aren't
accessible to new server files.

I did not figure it out. I ended up taking a longer route: essentially
building new folders. There is some kind of a formula auditor/evaluator under
"Tools" but I didn't use that so I don't know if that would be helpful. It
may help to get all the workbooks in the same folder and try changing the
source under "Edit", "Links".
Sorry I can't be of more help.
