Excel 97 - cursor won't let go

Today when I click on a cell to enter anything, nothing gets entered but the
cursor acts like I'm trying to select a bunch of cells and keeps selecting as
far as I move the cursor. Can't even let go to close Excel or click save or
ANYTHING. It's as if the left click button was stuck down but it isn't
because it's fine in any other program. Anyone had this happen before? Can't
use Excel at all until I get it fixed.

If beating up the poor little mouse doesn't help, gently touch the f8 key.

It's this mean streak I have..always go for the beating before the caress.
Seems like the old issue of F8 (Ext) now falls way behind a mouse issue ;-)

FJB

Excel 97 - cursor won't let go

I am reopening this issue. Users mouse acts like the left button is stuck,
only in Excel, every mouse, every USB port, the users profile, and my admin
profile, I have repared Excel, uninstalled and reinstalled, I have
uninstalled-reinstalled mouse drivers, on each one I have plugged in. I hate
to reimage, but I may have to, there are just many applications she uses that
are not on our image.
