Hi,

I have been using japanese Windows XP Pro and recently change to English
Windows XP Pro.

So, I have moved all files from Japanese Windows XP Pro to English Windows
XP Pro.

I found out most of Word file and Excel files are shown as 0 bites.

But I can open those Word and Excel files and I can use them but when come
to attaching files on Such as Yahoo Mail. It's get error saying couldn't
attached.

How to fix the these 0bites files to normal kbyes with actual size of file.
Is anyone way to fix the file or recount size of file of Word or Excel.

Anyone have a idea on this issue?

A file with 0 bytes means that there is absolutely nothing in the file--it's
just a name without contents.

Are you sure that there's something in those files?

If you're careful, you can open them in Notepad to check--but don't save them
from NotePad.

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your replay.

There is no problem opening the file on Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel
but it can't attach on Yahoo Mail.

I wonder if the file was stored on removable media (e.g. a CD), and it
had not yet been committed to the media. If not that, then I wonder if
the file was stored on a networked (share) drive, and for some reason
the local MS file system was unable to determine the file size across
the network. (Odd, since you apparently were able to read the file
content.) File size is a function of the file system. It should
simply report the amount of space consumed by the content. That should
be agnostic about the structure and nature of the content (Japanese v.
English).

If you're seeing the 0 byte indicator in windows explorer, make sure you're
looking at an updated list (View|Refresh).

Are you sure that you're opening the same file in Word or Excel?

Maybe copying from that folder to another folder would give more clues????
