PivotTable grouping problem
Hi there, I have a problem with a PivotTable and the "Group and Show Detail - Group" function. Basically what's happening is that I have a column, 'TimeStamp', with dates and times, of the format dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss, which I am grouping according to date, hour, and minute (seconds don't really matter). When I do this, Excel puts in two extra coulms, one for date, and one for hours, and appears to change the format of TimeStamp to minutes; thus shifting the table two columns to the right. Sometime later, when I reopen the file, the first two columns disappear, but the TimeStamp column is still sorted as I want. Any idea why the sorting is sometimes done in the one column, and other times it is done in three? It's really annoying cos I need to cross reference those cells elsewhere, and the cells I'm after keep shifting!
